Arizona’s Hometown Radio Group Announces Changes for the Prescott Area’s Pro Sports Broadcasts

Starting in January 2008, night time radio coverage of professional sports teams including the Phoenix Coyotes, Arizona Diamondbacks and the Arizona Cardinals will move from KPPV 106.7 FM to the new Cattle Country KDDL 94.3 FM.

The first to make the move will be the National Hockey League’s Phoenix Coyotes who will air on KDDL 94.3 FM starting Wednesday, Jan. 2 with their game against the Colorado Avalanche at 7 p.m. Day games will continue to be broadcast on KQNA 1130 AM.

When the Arizona Diamondbacks start their 2008 baseball season at the end of March, the night games will air on Cattle Country KDDL 94.3 FM. Diamondbacks day games will continue to be heard air on KQNA 1130 AM. The stations combined will carry all 162 regular season games plus any playoff games.

Cardinals’ fans will note that KDDL 94.3 FM will also be carrying the Arizona Cardinals’ night games starting with the 2008 season that kicks off in September, 2008. The day games will continue to play on KQNA 1130 AM as well.

The local station group has been the Arizona Cardinals local affiliates since 1995. They added the Coyotes affiliation in the 1997 season and finally, the Diamondbacks in their inaugural season back in 1998. “Let’s Talk Sports”, a locally produced sports talk show, debuted on KQNA 1130 AM in July, 1994, setting the stage for the addition of the other pro sports broadcasts.
