Chino Valley, Prescott, Prescott Valley, AZ – The 31st Annual Texaco Country Showdown local competition concluded on July 27th, naming Michael San Joaquin of Prescott as the winner. America’s largest country music talent search and radio promotion was held at the Prescott Center for the Arts and sponsored by Blimpie, Pepsi and Prescott Honda. This win marks completion of the first step in the prestigious national contest.

Michael San Joaquin’s combination of musical talent, stage presence, charisma, musicianship and originality caught the attention of judges including Robin Sue Roelofs, Rich Warriner and Don Weiss.

On October 6th at Wild Horse Pass Casino and Resort, Michael San Joaquin will advance to the state final of the Texaco Country Showdown vying for $1,000, and the opportunity to perform at on of five regional competitions in the fall. Regional winners receive an all-expense paid trip to the National Final, exuding talent and energy in their performances to compete for the $100,000 Grand Prize and the National Title.

Michael is well versed in Folk Country picking style. His expertise with instruments includes a six string guitar, twelve string guitar, classical guitar, and banjo! He entertains while he intersperses many stories about his playing experiences on the road. The Showdown also featured Sky Conwell & Lonesome Valley, Charles Folkman, Jessica Janel, Jeanne Nowak, Danny Pena, Danny Romero and Nolan Sturdevant.

 

KDDL 94.3 FM “Cattle Country” and the Texaco Country Showdown gives aspiring country music artists in America a chance to start their professional careers. The Showdown has been a launching point for virtually all of today’s major country acts including LeAnn Rimes, Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride and Billy Ray Cyrus.

Arizona’s Hometown Radio Group to Broadcast All 82 Games of the Pacific Division Champion Phoenix Coyotes

Chino Valley, Prescott, Prescott Valley, AZ – With the announcement of the Phoenix
Coyotes schedule for the 2012-13 National Hockey League season, Arizona’s Hometown Radio Group will broadcast all 82 regular season and subsequent postseason games with 61 games on KDDL 94.3 FM and 21 games on KQNA 1120 AM & 99.9 FM.

The Pacific Division Champion Coyotes will open their 16th regular season at home against the Dallas Stars on Saturday, October 13 at 6 p.m. They face their Western Conference Final foes for the first time next season, the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Los Angeles.

Arizona’s Hometown Radio Group, owners of KPPV 106.7 FM “The Mix,” KQNA 1130 AM News-Talk-Sports, KDDL 94.3 “Cattle Country” and KPKR 97.3 “River Rat Radio,” is promoting three employees to Vice presidential positions within the company. Radio group President Sanford Cohen named Allison Flannery to the new position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Flannery, who has been with Cohen’s stations since 1993, is now responsible for all sales and marketing including promotions and public relations. Her duties also include national sales and overseeing all local advertising sales.

Arizona’s Hometown Radio Group, owners of KDDL 94.3 FM, KQNA 1130 AM, KPPV 106.7 FM and KPKR 97.3 FM (Parker, Arizona) will be broadcasting all games live for the inaugural season of the Arizona Adrenaline indoor football team. Home and away games will air live on KDDL 94.3 FM “Cattle Country” beginning with the season home opener against the New Mexico Wildcats at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 30. Also, KQNA 1130 AM will host a weekly live talk show with head coach Drew Moore on Wednesdays. “Adrenaline and Moore” hosted by the Adrenaline broadcast team and Coach Moore will feature game highlights and Adrenaline sports talk live every Wednesday starting March 26 on KQNA. Show times will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the season. The public is invited to attend the weekly show at the Lariat at the Quality Inn in Prescott.
